Frequently Asked Questions

How does the GATE 2026 Rank Predictor work?

Paste your official GATE candidate response sheet URL from cdn.digialm.com. The tool parses your responses, compares them against the official answer key, applies GATE's marking scheme (including negative marking for MCQs, no negative for MSQ and NAT), and calculates your total marks. It then predicts your rank based on other users who have used this tool.

Is this GATE Rank Predictor free?

Yes, the GATE 2026 Rank Predictor is completely free to use. There are no hidden charges, no sign-up requirements, and no limits on usage.

Which GATE papers does this rank predictor support?

This tool supports GATE 2026 Computer Science (CS) with both Shift 1 and Shift 2, and Data Science & AI (DA). The subject and shift are auto-detected from your response sheet URL and Candidate ID.

How accurate is the GATE rank prediction?

The rank is predicted based on the marks of all students who have used this tool — it is not the official GATE rank. The more students use it, the more accurate the prediction becomes. For CS, normalized marks across both shifts are calculated using the standard GATE normalization formula.

Where can I find my GATE candidate response sheet URL?

Log in to the GATE 2026 official website, go to your candidate dashboard, and click on "View Response Sheet". The URL will start with https://cdn.digialm.com/. Copy this full URL and paste it into the rank predictor.

What is the GATE marking scheme?

MCQ: +1 or +2 marks for correct, -1/3 or -2/3 for wrong. MSQ: Full marks only if all correct options are selected, no negative marking. NAT: Full marks if answer is within the accepted range, no negative marking. Total: 100 marks across 65 questions (10 GA + 55 subject).

What is GATE marks normalization?

For CS (which has two shifts), GATE normalizes marks across sessions using the formula: Mij^ = [(Mtg - Mqg) / (Mti - Miq)] × (Mij - Miq) + Mqg. This ensures fair comparison between students from different shifts. Our tool calculates this based on the pool of students who have used the predictor.
